Raise your hand if you’re in need of some down time. With spring break and the summer travel season right around the corner, we wanted to map out our favorite spots around town to eat, drink and kick back. Whether you’re coming in town for the weekend or lounging hard on a staycation, we’ve got something for everyone’s inner-adventurer, with plenty of bites along the way.
Eat: No surprise, this is our favorite section. You can’t go wrong with lunch at our pals over at Stella’s, try the Fried Green Tomato & Pimento BLT. If you’re in the market for something a little more exotic, a bowl of pho at Mekong, or bento box at Sushi Masa should do the trick. For dinner and road snacks (Bacon Caramel Popcorn, anyone?) your friends at Bacon Bros. will treat you right.
Drink: The Pig on the Porch cocktail at American Grocery has bacon-infused bourbon. We’ll see you there. If you’re looking to go off the radar and completely relax, the bar at Restaurant 17 is only steps away from a pretty luxurious night’s sleep at Hotel Domestique.
Do: At this point you’ll either want to take a nap or burn off some calories. Stop in to Reedy Bikes to rent a bike, and hit the town or one of Greenville’s many bike trails. If biking’s not your thing, tour the West End by foot- it’s one of the best ways to see the city. Falls Park has been rated one of the top 10 parks in the country by Trip Advisor, and also happens to be home to Passarelle Bistro (did you really think we weren’t going to talk more about food?) Take it to go, and picnic in the park while you nosh.
